Careers · licensed agents and future agents
Build your practice here.
Bullard Financial is growing. We are looking for people who would rather tell a family the truth than make a sale, and we will give them the carriers, the training and the support to make a real living doing it.
Why this agency
Independent, and it actually means something.
You own your book. You are an independent contractor with your own license and your own clients. Your business is yours.
Twenty-plus carriers. Captive agents sell the one product they have. Our agents place the right one. That is the difference between explaining a compromise and making a recommendation.
Case support that shows up. Hard health histories, business cases, 412(e)(3) plans, annuity reviews. You are not figuring out an impaired-risk case alone at 9pm.
A process, not a pitch. Four questions before any quote. It is easier to sell, easier to sleep on, and it keeps business on the books.
Not licensed yet? That is fine. We will walk you through pre-licensing, the state exam and carrier appointments.
Who we are looking for
Character is the qualification.
We are an agency that tells people to keep the policy they already have when that is the right answer. Nobody can supervise that. Either you would do it unwatched or you would not.
Beyond that, people who have already done something hard tend to do well here. Veterans and first responders especially — our founder is both, and the habits transfer.
Career changers are welcome. So are experienced agents who are tired of a captive contract, a shrinking grid, or an upline that disappeared after the contract was signed.

Straight talk before you apply
What we will not tell you.
We will not tell you this is easy, or passive, or that leads are free. Commission income is uneven at the start, chargebacks are real, and getting licensed and appointed takes weeks, not days. Anyone who leaves that part out is recruiting you, not hiring you.
We will not print an income figure either. Whatever number we put on this page would be a number somebody else earned, under conditions you may never see. What we will do is get on a call and walk through the real economics with you — commission levels, what it costs to get started, how persistency affects what you keep, and what the first ninety days honestly look like.
If that sounds like the conversation you have been trying to get from someone, have it with us.
Start the conversation
Tell us where you are.
This goes to the agency, not to a call center. Someone will get back to you, usually within a business day, and the first conversation is a conversation — not a presentation with a countdown on it.
Already licensed? Say so and tell us what you are contracted with now. Not licensed? Say that instead; we will tell you exactly what the path costs and how long it takes in your state.
Bullard Financial agents are independent contractors, not employees, and are compensated by commission paid by the insurance carriers that issue the business. Agents are responsible for their own licensing, appointments, continuing education, errors-and-omissions coverage and business expenses. No level of income, lead volume, appointment or contract is promised or implied; results depend entirely on the individual. This page is a description of an independent contracting opportunity, not an offer of employment, and nothing here is a contract. Licensing requirements, timelines and costs are set by each state’s insurance department and vary.
Questions people ask
Are Bullard Financial agents employees or independent contractors?
Independent contractors. You hold your own license, you own your book, and you are paid by the carriers that issue the business. That also means you carry your own expenses and your own E&O; we will tell you exactly what that looks like before you sign anything.
Do I need a license before I apply?
No. If you are already licensed we can move quickly. If you are not, we will walk you through the pre-licensing course, the state exam and the carrier appointments. Most people who follow the process are licensed within four to eight weeks, though timing varies by state.
Do you provide leads?
We provide training, carrier access, case support and a marketing system, and we are honest about lead flow rather than promising it. Any agent who tells you leads are unlimited and free is selling you something. We will show you exactly where our business comes from and what it costs.
What does Bullard Financial look for in an agent?
Character first. We are an agency that says no to business that is wrong for the client, and that only works if every agent here would do the same unwatched. Veterans, first responders and career changers are genuinely welcome.
How much can an agent earn?
We do not publish income figures, because commission-based income depends entirely on the individual, their market, their effort and their persistency, and any number we printed would be a number someone else earned. We will talk openly about real economics on a call — commission levels, chargebacks and what it actually costs to get started.
